William Bushamuka won first place in the W.A. Weldon Invitational Tournament last weekend at Gorin Park.

The W.A. Weldon Tennis Association hosted the W.A. Weldon Invitational Tournament and the Jim Moody Doubles Classic this weekend at Gorin Park.

The singles event featured a field of 16 players, and William Bushamuka came out on top after defeating Drew Singerman in the finals. 

Bushamuka’s road to the championship included victories against Parker Collignon (6-1, 6-0), Noah Swencki (6-3, 6-4), Parth Aggarwal (6-2, 6-0).

Parth Aggarwal, right, and Matt Halpin, left, won first place in the Jim Moody Doubles Classic last weekend at Gorin Park. They are pictured here with Weldon Tennis Association President Terry Bunnell, center.

On the doubles side, Aggarwal teamed up with Matt Halpin and were crowed champions, defeating Bushamuka and Noah Tapp in the final match. Their road to victory included wins over Zach White and Brett Folsom, as well as Daniel Lineberry and Singerman.

Daniel Lineberry received the Jack T Goodman Sportsmanship Award at the W.A. Weldon Invitational Tournament last weekend at Gorin Park.
