Roundup: Lady Scotties lose close one; Monroe County soccers drops road match

The Glasgow Lady Scotties suffered defeat for the first time this season Monday night. 

Glasgow and visiting Todd County Central were tied at the half, but the Lady Rebels pushed through a second half goal to garner a 2-1 win over the Lady Scotties(2-1). 

Aubrey Phillips scored the lone goal for Glasgow in the match. The Lady Scotties are scheduled to play Aug. 27 at home against South Warren. 

Monroe falls on the road

The Monroe County Lady Falcons dropped a close match on the road Monday evening. 

The Lady Falcons fell 3-2 at Wayne County to drop to 0-1-1 on the season. 

Brylee Pickerell scored two goals for the Lady Falcons in the loss and leads the team with three goals for the season. 

Monroe County will travel to play at Warren Central at 7 p.m. Thursday. 

ACS wins volleyball match

The reigning District 15 volleyball champs, Allen County-Scottsville, started their season out with a win Monday night. 

ACS defeated Edmonson County on the road 2-0. 

In other Monday evening volleyball action, Barren County defeated Cumberland County on the road 2-0.
