The Metcalfe County Lady Hornets on Tuesday night avenged a loss from earlier this season when they defeated Monroe County in a high school volleyball match.
Metcalfe County fell to the Lady Falcons 2-1 on Aug. 24 in the All 'A' Classic, but responded Tuesday with a 2-0 win.
The Lady Hornets won 25-10, 25-22, and will next be in action Thursday when they host Campbellsville. The Lady Hornets improved to 6-3 with the victory.
Monroe County(2-5) will host Glasgow on Thursday.
Lady Scotties win on the road
Glasgow won its volleyball match at Cumberland County on Tuesday.
The Lady Scotties won 2-0(25-18, 25-18) to improve to 3-6 ahead of their road match with Monroe County on Thursday in Tompkinsville.
Barren County drops match
Barren County fell to Butler County 2-0(25-15, 25-16) on the road Tuesday.
Barren County(6-5) will travel to Allen County-Scottsville on Thursday for a District 15 volleyball match.
In other local volleyball action, Caverna fell to Hart County 3-0 on Tuesday.
Teams to compete in All 'A' on Saturday
Local soccer teams will be headed to Russellville on Saturday to compete in the 4th Region All 'A' Classic, vying for a chance to move forward to the state tournament.
On the girls' side, Glasgow will face Russellville at 9 a.m. Monroe County will also face Russellville with the match slated for noon. The championship match will be held Saturday evening.
On the boys' side, Glasgow will play Russellville at 11 a.m. with the winner moving ahead to take on Todd County Central in the championship match Saturday evening.
