GLASGOW — The Caverna boys' basketball program will have a interim head coach for the remaining 2017-18 season.
Josh Davis resigned as head coach of the boy's basketball team at Caverna High School.
Jordan Rice will assume head coaching duties for the Colonels.
"This morning, Josh Davis resigned as the head boys basketball coach. We have appointed Jordan Rice as the interim head coach for the remainder of the season. He has been serving as an assistant coach for both the boys and girls basketball team. We wish nothing but the best to Coach Davis and his family and look forward to the future of Caverna Basketball," Caverna High School principal Chase Goff said in a statement via Twitter.
The former Caverna head coach released the following statement to the Glasgow Daily Times:
"Today was one of the harder days I’ve had. I love my guys, my coaches and know they are in good hands going forward. When I came here I wanted to as much as anything build something that would last by starting from the ground up. Despite the degree of difficulty of this decision, I feel like that was the case. I wish everyone involved nothing but success going forward," Davis said.
Davis was 19-29 in his two seasons at Caverna.
