HORSE CAVE – Jobby Howard continued to show Monday why he's one of the top scorers in Kentucky.

The senior scored 57 points, knocked won 13 shots from behind the arc and led Caverna to a 98-74 win over Green County in the first round of the District 18 tournament at Caverna High School.

Caverna (13-15) will play the winner of Tuesday's matchup between Hart County and LaRue County on Friday in the district finals. The win guarantees the Colonels a spot in the Region 5 tournament.

It was an offensive clinic for Howard, who had 55 points after the third quarter after scoring 36 in the first half. Howard finished the regular season at fifth in the state in scoring, averaging 30.1 points per game. He scored 65 points against Adair County earlier in the season.
