Cave City police arrested a woman Sunday they claim had been selling methamphetamine out of a local hotel.

According to a Cave City Police Department news release, officers responded to a complaint of four people smoking methamphetamine inside a room in the Travel Inn. Officers made contact with two people when they arrived who were leaving the room who said they had no knowledge of any drug activity there.

One of the people had an active warrant and she was arrested.

Officers then made contact with Crystal G. Jent, 35, and a man inside the room. Officers reported a strong odor of marijuana inside, and they received permission to search the room, the news release said.

Officers found a small digital scale, small plastic bags and 4.9 grams of methamphetamine inside the room along with a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe, the news release said.

Following an investigation, officers concluded Jent had been selling meth and marijuana out of the room.

Jent was arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance(methamphetamine) and trafficking in marijuana. She was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center and remained there as of Monday afternoon.

The Barren County Sheriff's Office assisted Cave City at the scene.
