Two Edmonton women were arrested Saturday after a property owner reported a theft.
According to a Metcalfe County Sheriff's Office news release, Constable Dwight Smith was called to a property along Glen Shaw Road regarding a theft.
MCSO Deputy Jarrod Steele was called to the scene to assist and located Smith, who had detained two women at the property, the news release said.
According to the news release, the women had been caught breaking into a residence. Steele recovered evidence of a burglary as well as tools committed during the burglary.
During a search of the women, authorities also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the news release said.
Miriah Wright, 43, and Estelle M. Geis, 54, were arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, third-degree criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking from a building(under $500) and possession of marijuana.
Wright was also charged with drug paraphernalia buy/possess.
