The Horse Cave Police Department recovered a large quantity of stolen property on Thursday subsequent to a domestic situation involving a woman being hit by a vehicle.
Horse Cave police officers responded to a report of a domestic situation where a woman, Tiffany Avery, had allegedly been struck by a car driven by Mark “Buddy” Webb, said a Horse Cave Police Department press release.
During the course of an investigation, police officers learned that multiple storage buildings in the city were being used to store the stolen property. Multiple searches were conducted and the identified stolen property was recovered, the press release said.
Webb, 34, of 331 Bunnell St., Horse Cave, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana, possession of burglary tools, receiving stolen property under $10,000, leaving the scene of an accident and promoting contraband, the press release said.
Avery, 30, also of 331 Bunnell St., Horse Cave, was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, possession of burglary tools, second-degree disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, the press release said.
A third person, Joshua Webb, 33, also of 331 Bunnell St., Horse Cave, was charged with failure to appear on a Barren County warrant. All three were initially lodged in the Hart County Jail.
Mark Webb is being held at the Hart County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash bond. Avery is being held at the Hart County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond, according to the Hart County Jail’s website.
Joshua Webb was released to the Barren County Detention Center on Friday and is being held there in lieu of a $1,005 cash bond, according to Hart County Jail personnel.
The Horse Cave Police Department anticipates more charges and arrests in connection with the case. The Horse Cave Police Department was assisted by the Kentucky State Police, Horse Cave City Maintenance Department and the Horse Cave Volunteer Fire Department in the recovery of the stolen property, the press release said.
