The Glasgow High School golf team won the 4th Region All 'A' Classic tournament Thursday, advancing the Scotties to the state tournament in Richmond on Sept. 7.
Ethan Harlow led the Scotties with a 36 at Kentucky Hills Golf Course in Summer Shade. Clay Pippen(41), Bo Shelton(45) and Drew Richardson(48) followed Harlow's top score for Glasgow, which earned him overall medalist.
Glasgow will play at the Gibson Bay Golf Course in the state tournament.
Trojans win third straight
The Barren County Trojans kept their streak alive Thursday, defeating Campbellsville 4-0 at home to pick up their third consecutive soccer win.
Barren County improved to 4-2 with the win, and will host Russellville on Thursday.
Trojanettes win on the road
The Barren County Trojanettes picked up a road soccer victory at Franklin-Simpson on Thursday.
Barren County won 4-0 to improve to 3-0 this season.
Emma Hughes and Ally Bell each scored two goals for Barren County. Bell had two assists, while Hughes and Olivia Stice also each added an assist.
Gracelyn Deweese was credited with 11 saves for Barren County in the shutout.
The Trojanettes will host Breckinridge County on Wednesday.
Glasgow beats Monroe County
The Glasgow Lady Scotties got back to their winning ways Thursday with a 7-0 road soccer win over Monroe County.
Aubrey Phillips and Dinah Miranda led the way for the Lady Scotties with each scoring two goals. Karly Murphy, Autumn Copass and Savannah Brown also each had a goal.
Emma Watson led the team with two assists, and Paige Burd was credited with a shutout at keeper.
Metcalfe County beats Barren County in volleyball
The Metcalfe County Lady Hornets defeated Barren County on Thursday in local volleyball action.
Metcalfe County won 2-0(25-14, 27-25), to improve to 5-3 on the season. The Trojanettes dropped to 6-4 with the loss.
The Caverna Colonels lost 2-0 at Adair County on Thursday, winning 25-23, 25-20.
The Lady Colonels dropped to 1-4 with the loss, and will travel to Hart County on Tuesday.
Also Thursday, Glasgow lost on the road to Franklin-Simpson 2-1(25-16, 21-25, 25-11).
The Lady Scotties(2-6) will play at Cumberland County on Tuesday.
