The Metcalfe County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday it found about 78 grams of suspected methamphetamine inside a vehicle after responding to a wreck on Randolph Goodluck Road.

According to a news release, Deputy Jarrod Steele responded to the intersection of Randolph Goodluck Road and Wilbur Glass Road at about 8:20 p.m. Monday night in reference to a single vehicle wreck.

The preliminary investigation indicated Anthony "Scott" Marrs, 38, was driving a 2009 Saturn eastbound on Wilbur Glass Road when the vehicle crossed the roadway and struck a large tree before coming to a rest on the northbound shoulder of Randolph Goodluck Road.

Marrs was transported from the scene by Barren-Metcalfe EMS where he was later flown to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment, the news release said.

During the investigation, the MCSO found about 78 grams of suspected meth inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle, the news release said. It was also discovered the vehicle was reported stolen from a residence along Apple Grove Road earlier Monday.

Marrs also had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. The incident remains under investigation and numerous criminal charges are pending.
