A man died Sunday after a single-vehicle collision in Hart County, according to a press release from the Kentucky State Police.
KSP trooper Jarrod Lewis and other KSP personnel responded to a single-vehicle collision around 12:22 a.m. Sunday that occurred near the 67 mile marker of Interstate 65 northbound, the press release states.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Anthony Todd Davenport, 56, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was driving a vehicle when, “for an unknown reason, left the right shoulder of the roadway, losing control of the vehicle,” according to the press release. “Davenport’s vehicle re-entered the roadway crossing all northbound lanes of travel striking a concrete barrier wall, overturning at least one revolution before coming to final rest on the right lane.”
Davenport was pronounced dead on the scene by the Hart County Coroner’s Office, the press release states. A passenger, Deshevia Phillips, 50, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was transported from the scene to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation continues, led by Lewis, who was assisted at the scene by the Hart County Emergency Medical Service, Hart County Emergency Management, Hart County Coroner and other KSP personnel.
