A Glasgow man was arrested Monday by the Metcalfe County Sheriff's Office in connection with a stolen vehicle.

According to a MCSO news release, Deputy Mike Burton pulled over a 1970 Buick convertible driven by Jonathan W. Greer, 38, on Knob Lick Wisdom Road on Aug. 15.

"The vehicle was unregistered, and Greer possessed no documents to prove ownership of the vehicle," the news release said.

Identification numbers for the vehicle had been obscured, and Burton seized the car and launched an investigation, the news release said.

Burton was able to determine the correct VIN for the vehicle and identify the car's owner. It had been reported stolen in October 2017 to MCSO.

The vehicle was valued at $5,000 at the time of the theft.

On Monday, Greer was located in Hiseville and arrested. He was charged with receiving stolen property(under $10,000), selling or receiving a vehicle with removed or altered VIN, obscuring the identity of a machine and destruction of VIN.

Greer remained in the Barren County Detention Center as of Wednesday afternoon.
