A Glasgow man was arrested after authorities said he broke into a church while under the influence of methamphetamine.
According to a Barren County Sheriff's Office arrest citation, a deputy was dispatched to Loving Springs Baptist Church, located at 1840 Park City-Glasgow Road, on Monday in reference to a man who had made a phone call from the church's number.
At the church, a deputy found the rear door partially opened and found 40-year-old Jeremy A. Harper inside a bathroom, according to the citation.
The front door of the church was damaged due to Harper throwing rocks at the glass in an attempt to break it, the citation said.
Harper "stated that he had used drugs recently and that he entered the church to get away from potential harm of another person," the citation said.
The deputy reported that he believed Harper was under the influence of methamphetamine.
Harper was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal trespassing, first-degree criminal mischief and public intoxication(excludes alcohol).
