On Saturday morning, 52 vehicles were reported as broken into on the northeast side of Glasgow, according to a press release issued by Glasgow Police Department over the weekend.
Virginia Avenue, Davis Street, West Cherry Street, Melton Street, Garmon Avenue, Cambridge Circle, Taylor Street, New Salem Road, Rainbow Drive, Creekwood Drive, Riverside Drive, Cedar Street, Walnut Street, Bell Terrace, Shelley Drive, West Leech Avenue, North Green Street and Sun Valley Drive were the areas targeted.
According to GPD Chief Guy Turcotte, some of the vehicles were “reportedly locked and others were not, however, none sustained any damage in the attempt to get the doors open.”
Items that were taken include cash, personal items and two handguns, the release said.
GPD had no comment as to whether or not they have any suspects in mind, and no items have been recovered at press time, according to an email sent by GPD Public Affairs Officer Julie Anne Williams sent on Tuesday.
“We remind you to take items of value out of your vehicles,” the release said. “Also, contact police if you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood.”
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact GPD at 270-651-5151.
