BURKESVILLE – Two people died Sunday after the vehicle they were in and another crashed about four miles west of Burkesville on Ky. 90.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at approximately noon, according to a KSP press release. It states that the preliminary investigation indicated that 41-year-old Susan Jamie Curry and her passenger, Joseph Curry, 42, both of Edmonton, were traveling east on Ky. 90 in a 1995 GEO Tracker. Curry's vehicle struck rumble strips on the right shoulder of the roadway and she overcorrected and crossed the westbound lane into the path of a 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck operated by Robert Hostetler, 30, of Burkesville, according to the press release.

Joseph Curry was pronounced deceased on at the scene by the Cumberland County coroner. Susan Curry was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased by the Fayette County coroner. Hostetler was not injured in the collision. All parties were wearing seat belts, according to the press release.

Trooper Jason Warinner is investigating and was assisted at the scene by Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Burkesville Police Department and Cumberland County Fire and EMS.
