The trial of a Glasgow man accused in the murder of a Cave City businessman is scheduled to begin Monday in Hart County.

Albert Stephens, who is his mid-50s, is accused in the shooting death of Christopher Holder, 57, owner of Coffey's Concrete off East Happy Valley Street in Cave City and who was also a former mayor of Cave City.

Chris Holder was shot in November 2016 at the residence of Gary and Ann Logsdon, at 507 North Jackson Highway near Hardyville. The Logsdons are Tammy Holder's mother and step-father. Tammy Holder is Chris Holder's widow.

The charge against Stephens was changed to murder after the case was presented again to a Hart County grand jury after Chris Holder succumbed to his injuries in May 2017.

The trial is expected to last five days and that includes the voir dire process of questioning possible jurors by the judge and the attorneys in the case.
