A part-time dispatcher and special deputy for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department has been arrested on a warrant.

Chris Dubree, 36, of 31 S. Old Trace Road, Tompkinsville, turned himself into authorities Wednesday at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department. The arrest warrant was obtained by Jeff Denhard, police chief for the Gamaliel Police Department and served by Roger Barlow, deputy sheriff of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, according to the Monroe County Circuit Clerk’s Office.

Dubree was charged with fourth-degree assault and has been released from custody on a $500 surety bond, according to Denhard.

His arrest stems from an altercation that occurred on Feb. 6 between Dubree and his ex-wife, Anna Marie Dubree, of Gamaliel. She obtained an emergency protective order against him on Feb. 9.

Dubree was not on duty at the time of his arrest. According to Sheriff Jerry “Slick” Gee, Dubree worked one day a month as a dispatcher and served legal papers in his role as a special deputy. He is scheduled to appear in Monroe District Court on both charges on Feb. 16.
