On July 3, Officer Paul Reynolds with the Cave City Police Department, responded to a theft complaint at the post office in Cave City. When officer Reynolds arrived, he made contact with a female who claimed her purse had been stolen from her vehicle. The female stated there was more than $300 dollars and a black cell phone in her purse, the CCPD news release stated.
After a brief investigation, Joshua Geralds became a suspect. Reynolds located Geralds in a room at Star Motel hiding under a bed. Geralds was found in possession of a black cell phone and $315 dollars, according to the news release.
Geralds was charged with theft by unlawful taking [purse snatching] and served with three felony warrants. Geralds was arrested and transported to the Barren County Detention Center.
