A 3-year-old girl was seriously injured on Sunday when the vehicle she was a passenger in struck a pickup truck head-on in a curve, approximately three miles south of Edmonton on the Cedar Flat Curtis Road, according to officials with the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office.

Alexis Boston, 3, was flown by AIR EVAC to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville and admitted for injuries she sustained in the collision.

Authorities said Kasey Morrison, 19, of Edmonton, was going around a curve when the vehicle she was driving hit a 1999 Dodge pickup driven by 21-year-old Scotty Shaw, of Edmonton, head-on, injuring all three occupants in Morrison’s vehicle.

Kasey Morrison and a second passenger, Katie Morrison, 16, were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment by Barren-Metcalfe EMS.

A separate accident in Warren County over the weekend injured a Tennessee man, Kentucky State Police said.

Authorities said Michael J. Dollen, 45, of Madison Tenn., was traveling northbound on Interstate 65 at an unsafe speed when he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to change lanes.

The vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and overturned before coming to a rest, police said.

Dollen was transported to the Medical Center at Bowling Green for injuries.
