A Glasgow woman and a passenger in her car were injured Wednesday morning when the vehicle they were in was struck in the driver’s side door by a hospital bus as the driver attempted to cross North Race Street, Glasgow Police said.

Helen Glover, 68, of 105 Mill St., and a passenger, Brenda S. Stone, 55, of 127 Robinson Court, both of Glasgow, were transported by Barren-Metcalfe EMS to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment.

Police said Glover was traveling North Race Street approaching the front entrance of T.J. Samson as a hospital bus driven by Bobby L. Haire, 49, of 130 Lillian Lane, Glasgow, attempted to cross North Race Street from the hospital parking lot exit.

The bus Haire was driving struck Glover’s 2004 Hyundai in the side, injuring both occupants, police said.

Haire was not injured in the collision. All parties were wearing seat belts when the accident occurred, according to police reports.

A Barren County man was injured early Wednesday morning after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving just west of Beckton when a deer ran into his path, officials with the Barren County Sheriff’s Department said.

Erick Woods, 36, of 10671 Old Bowling Green Road, was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for a shoulder injury.

Authorities said Woods was traveling west on Ky. 1297 when a deer ran into his path.

Woods swerved to miss the animal causing his vehicle to exit the right side of the road where it struck an embankment before coming to rest, according to reports.

Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate a traffic accident that occurred yesterday on the Old Mayfield Mill Road just after 5 p.m. in which two people were seriously injured.

One person was flown by helicopter to a Louisville Hospital for treatment, authorities said. A second person was taken by ambulance to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for injuries.

No information other information about the accident was available by press time, a spokesperson for the state police said. Details are expected to be released sometime later today.
