Officers from six separate agencies gathered during the predawn hours this morning for a countywide roundup of suspected drug traffickers. The Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force, along with officers from the Cave City and Glasgow Police departments, the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms fanned out across the county as they served arrest warrants on some 35 individuals.

The law enforcement agencies worked in tandem during, the roundup, including the Barren County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and the Barren County Correctional Center. Jail staff were stationed at the Kentucky National Guard Armory this morning to book and process those individuals arrested and charged in connection with the sting operation.

Sealed indictments were issued for the arrest warrants. Around 20 people are expected to be taken into custody today, according to authorities. “We’ve arrested a couple this week already,” Jeff Scruggs, director of the DTF said.

By press time today, nine people were charged in the roundup:

- Timothy Adams Jr., alias, T.J., 19, of 3038 Austin Tracy Road, Glasgow, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (marijuana) within 1,000 yards of a school.

- Billy Ray Matthews, 47, of 245 Mayhew Road, Glasgow, was charged with complicity to trafficking in marijuana.

- William K. Francis, alias Kenny, 47, of 403 College St., Glasgow, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree, cocaine.

- Walter Allen, 44, of 305 East Washington St., Glasgow, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree, cocaine.

- Kimbleton Martin, alias Kim, 51, of 506 Trimble Lane, Cave City, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree, cocaine.

- Lora Shofner, 35, of 357 Lee Fendell Road, Cave City, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree, cocaine.

- Jessie Davis, 22, of 2280 Herbert Turner Road, Park City, was arrested Tuesday and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school.

- Adrian Boyd, 23, of 409 Old Bardstown Road, Cave City, was already jailed on unrelated charges and has been additionally charged in connection with the roundup. He was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree, cocaine.

- Marty Childress, 42, of 22318 Louisville Road, Park City, was charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, second offense. He was not part of the indictment.
