K9 Joe

K9 Joe helped officers find 13.5 grams of methamphetamine and marijuana during a traffic stop, police said.

A Scottsville man and a Glasgow woman were arrested on drug trafficking charges after police said a K9 unit helped them discover more than 13.5 grams of crystal meth and marijuana inside a vehicle.

Glasgow Police Department Sgt. Jessie Barton stopped a vehicle along Cumberland Parkway on Sunday and made contact with James M. Finn, 45, of Scottsville. According to a GPD news release, Finn declined to allow officers to search the vehicle, so Officer John Warnock deployed K9 Joe.

The dog alerted officers that drugs were inside the vehicle, and they searched it and found methamphetamine and marijuana, the news release said.

Finn and a passenger in the vehicle, Norma J. Wilson, 57, of Glasgow were arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance(methamphetamine, more than 2 grams). Wilson was also charged with possession of marijuana.
