Glasgow police responded to Walmart off Happy Valley Road on Saturday in reference to a shoplifting complaint.
Following an investigation, police arrested Kristy Howard, 46, of Glasgow, after finding hydrocodone on her person along with stolen items, which were returned to the store, said a Glasgow Police Department press release.
Howard was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense, drug unspecified), prescription for a controlled substance not in proper container (first offense) and theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property under $500, the press release said.
The arrest was made by Officer Allen Riffle, the press release said.
Howard was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center but has since been released on a $2,500 surety bond, according to the jail's website.
