A Glasgow woman was arrested on multiple charges Saturday following a traffic stop by Glasgow police in reference to a shoplifter that had left Walmart along Happy Valley Road.
During the traffic stop, Glasgow Police Officer Andrew Moore recovered all of the items that were allegedly stolen from Walmart that were inside a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Jessicka R. Birge. Moore also found methamphetamine inside the vehicle, said a Glasgow Police Department press release.
Birge was charged with not having registration plates, no registration receipt, operating on a suspended or revoked operator's license, giving police officer false identifying information, theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property under $500 and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense, methamphetamine), said the press release.
Birge was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center. A pay or stay bond of $362.59 is pending, as well as $2,500 unsecured bond, according to the jail website.
Assisting Moore in making the arrest was Glasgow Police Officer John Warnock, the press release said.
