The Glasgow Police Department arrested two Glasgow residents Friday in the course of investigating a rape alleged to have occurred Wednesday, according to a GPD press release.
Detective Aaron Cowan made contact with Dedontae S. Morrison, 22, on May Street and located a stolen cell phone and methamphetamine on him, and also found a handgun on Dwayne E. Welborn, according to the press release.
Cowan, with assistance from Detective Mickey Atwood, arrested both, and they both remained lodged in the Barren County Detention Center as of Saturday afternoon.
Morrison was charged with first-degree rape, with victim incapable of consent and/or physically helpless; theft by unlawful taking or disposition, all others, under $500; first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Welborn, 31, was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, all according to the press release.
