An Edmonton woman was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital on Sunday after the vehicle she was driving overturned.
According to a Metcalfe County Sheriff's Office news release, Angela R. Kerr, 31, was driving a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday when the vehicle dropped off the westbound shoulder near the 6000 block of Glasgow Road.
According to the news release, Kerr lost control of the vehicle and it crossed the roadway, exiting off the eastbound shoulder before traveling down an earthen embankment and striking a large concrete culvert.
The vehicle then overturned through a fence into a field before coming to a rest.
Kerr had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Edmonton-Metcalfe Fire Department before being transferred via air ambulance to Louisville for treatment of her injuries.
A passenger, Sharon L. Jones, 52, of Edmonton along with four juvenile passengers were transported via ambulance to T.J. Samson Community Hospital where they were treated and released.
All occupants were wearing seat belts, according to the news release.
Barren-Metcalfe EMS, Air Methods Air Medical Transport and Metcalfe County Constable Tony Shockley assisted the fire department and sheriff's office at the scene.
