An Edmonton home at the corner of Rogers and North Main streets was destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters with the Edmonton Volunteer Fire Department were initially dispatched to the fire scene a little after 2 a.m.

“It was fully engulfed when we got to the scene,” said Edmonton Fire Chief Jerry Clemmons.

Assisting Edmonton firefighters in battling the blaze were firefighters with the Metcalfe County, North Metcalfe County and Summer Shade Volunteer Fire departments.

No one was injured in the fire, Clemmons said.

Firefighters remained on the scene until about 5:30 a.m. but were called back to the scene later Tuesday morning to spray more water on the remains of the house so work could be done to the telephone lines near the house, he said.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Clemmons said.
