The members of the Cave City Chamber of Commerce have voted and proudly selected Bucky Bee’s BBQ as February Member of the Month.

Bucky Bee’s BBQ is owned and operated by De’Lynn & Sheila Buckingham and is located at 822 Mammoth Cave Road in Cave City.

De’Lynn & Sheila each have a long history in the food service industry. They actually met when they were both working at Shoney’s Restaurant in Glasgow. Through the years, they have done virtually every job there is to do in a restaurant from being a server, a cook & a manager to now owning their own restaurant. De’Lynn even worked for T Marzetti for a time which allowed him to experience and learn about food service from the supplier’s perspective.

In 2014, the Buckinghams were working at the Munfordville location of Mama Lou’s BBQ. They handled the cooking as well as managing the restaurant. They ultimately bought the business effective Jan. 1, 2016 and changed the name to Bucky Bee’s BBQ. Not content with having only one restaurant, they opened a second Bucky Bee’s BBQ on Mammoth Cave St in Cave City. The Cave City business quickly outgrew its building and De’Lynn & Sheila knew some changes had to be made. In 2017, they closed the restaurant in Munfordville and re-located the Cave City restaurant to the current & much larger location.

While still in high school, Ransom Buckingham, De’Lynn & Sheila’s son, got a call one night from his Dad asking if he could fill in for a dishwasher that had called in sick. That one night turned into a career for Ransom. He followed his parent’s example and worked at and learned every aspect of the restaurant business and he is now the manager of Bucky Bee’s BBQ. From pulled pork & ribs to the loaded “King Ransom” potato, Bucky Bee’s menu will satisfy all your BBQ cravings. They offer a weekend buffet that includes catfish as well as a food truck that parks across from Dart Container daily from 11 am to 3 pm.

The Buckinghams roots are here and they love Cave City as evidenced by De’Lynn serving as a director on the Cave CityTourism Commission Board. The whole family works hard and gives generously to make the community better. The Cave City Chamber is very proud to have Bucky Bee’s BBQ as a member. Congratulations on being voted by our membership as Chamber Member of the Month for February.
