GLASGOW – As part of his daily update Wednesday on new cases of COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus identified last year, Gov. Andy Beshear announced an additional one in Warren County.
“As of this afternoon, we believe we have 198 confirmed cases in Kentucky,” he said.
He also announced the fifth death related to the illness, a 75-year-old Jefferson County male.
Barren River District Health Department had reported early Tuesday evening that it was investigating 10 cases of COVID-19 in the eight-county area it serves, which includes Barren County, but even as the governor was speaking Wednesday, a new press release was distributed, increasing that number.
“The Barren River District Health Department is investigating 14 cases of COVID-19 in the Barren River District: Warren County has nine cases; Simpson County has four; Logan County has one,” the press release stated.
