Monday

Chapter 20 of the DAV provides a free ride to any and all veterans who have appointments at the VA hospital or other VA Clinics in the Louisville area. Please schedule your appointment on a Monday since that is the only day of the week this ride is possible. If you need a ride please call 502-780-3245 to schedule a ride with Chapter 20 DAV.

The VFW Service Office will be available at VFW Post 5906, 2970 N. Jackson Hwy., (just across from Glass Aggregates) from 9 a.m. to noon every first Monday of the month. Bring discharge form (WD AGO 253 or DD 214), not your certificate.

The Saint Helen Food Pantry, 230 Cavalry Drive, Glasgow, service hours are 9:30 a.m. until noon the first four Mondays of the month; closed on holidays and also on the fifth Monday of the month. Please remain in your autos on delivery day the first Monday of the month and please do not enter inside until the delivery truck has been unloaded and everything has been taken inside for the safety of all! Always bring proof of ID and address each month you pick up.

Community Soup Kitchen serves free meals to anyone in the community from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (no evening meals are served) at the Liberty District Ralph Bunche Community Center. Tuesday

Disabled American Veterans Department of Kentucky will have a State Service Officer at Lera B. Mitchell Clubhouse, 1214 S. Green St., Glasgow, every Tuesday of each month (except holidays) from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., to assist veterans with the filing of V.A. Claims. Bring a copy of DD-214 and any paperwork from the V.A. to each visit. Veterans do not have to be a member of the DAV to obtain this service.

Habitat for Humanity accepts donations of furniture, appliances, household items and building materials. The store, at 506 W. Main St. in Glasgow, is open Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. If you’re unable to deliver a donation, call 270-629-5775 to schedule a pickup.
