Water has receded on Morgan Street and Columbia Ave. at Davis Street. There is still water some areas of Columbia Ave., but road is passable.
A flood warning remains in effect for the area.
As of 2:30 p.m., Happy Valley Road has been blocked to through traffic, Columbia Ave. in the vacinity of Davis Street has been blocked to through traffic and Morgan Street north of East Main Street has been blocked to through traffic. Water has covered the road in these three areas.
As of 2:30 p.m., less than an inch of rain was reported at the Barren County mesonet site.
Nearly 1.5 inches of rain have been reported by the Metcalfe County mesonet site.
A flash flood warning is in effect for all of Barren County. The warning from the National Weather Service website reads:
AT 206 PM CDT...FLOODING ON MULTIPLE ROADS WAS REPORTED IN GLASGOW FROM TRAINING THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WARNED AREA. THE AREA CONTINUES TO RECEIVE TORRENTIAL RAINFALL FROM TRAINING THUNDERSTORMS. FLOODING IS LIKELY OCCURING IN OTHER WARNING LOCATIONS BESIDES GLASGOW AS WELL.
The warning adds that additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
It also says: DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
