Physicians and nurses from the T.J. Samson Family Medicine Center and U of L / Glasgow Family Medicine Residency participated in health screenings at the Liberty District-Ralph Bunche Community Center on Feb. 24.
Approximately 20 individuals were able to have screenings for hypertension and diabetes. In addition to screenings, participants were able to spend time with a physician where they could have their medication and health history reviewed. The information was placed in a format that will allow future interactions with the healthcare system to be more efficient.
There are plans for monthly screenings at the Bunche Community Center with the eventual addition of monthly lectures on current health topics.
