Dorothy Stevenson
Dorothy Stevenson, 81, born in Terre Haute, passed away Oct. 23, 2009, at Westminster Towers in Bradenton, Fla. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Wailly, and mother, Dorothy Sneider Wailly; stepmother, Luella Wailly; sisters, Eloise Girton and Lou Amy Mann; an infant brother; and former husband, Donald Stevenson.
Dottie loved watching sports, particularly the Cubs and the Rays. She knew all the players, the stats and each team’s standings in the league. She was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed. The family would like to especially thank the caring staff at Westminster Towers and Tidewall Hospice.
She is survived by sisters, Frances (Jerry) Eder and Mary (Matt) Wailly-Masseh; stepbrother, Larry Rice; brother, Louis (Barbara) Wailly and Ronald Wailly; daughters, Sara (Thomas) Routh, Christina (Scott) Nelson, Elizabeth (Edward) Worley and Martha (John) Briggs; son, Monte (Jennifer) Stevenson; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at Westminster Chapel, 1533 4th Ave., in Bradenton, 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009. The family requests memorial donations be made to Westminster Foundation Scholarship Fund, 1533 4th Ave. W. Bradenton, FL 34205, in remembrance of Dorothy Stevenson.
