Late Saturday: South girls hold off Northview 55-46

The Terre Haute South Braves left Brazil with two victories on Saturday night. En route to holding off the Northview Knights for a 55-46 win, the Braves learned how to play against a specialty defense. Northview used a box-and-one defense to rally from a 15-point deficit and get within three points before South hit critical free throws to move to 5-0 on the young season.....more>>

Final Four Frustration: Marshall's run at state comes up short with semifinal defeat
The 2009 high school football season ended Saturday afternoon for the Lions as they lost to Maroa-Forsyth 31-14 in a Class 2A semifinal playoff contest. The Trojans will put an 11-2 record on the line against Morrison in the Illinois Class 2A championship game Friday at the University of Illinois, seeking their second state championship.
