GLASGOW — Glasgow Mayor Rhonda Riherd Trautman issued the following statement Sunday morning:
"During the extreme cold weather predicted for the next couple of days, the City of Glasgow encourages everyone to stay indoors when possible.
“For those citizens who might be at risk, the American Red Cross, in cooperation with the Glasgow Bible Church, will be providing shelter for anyone in the community who might not have heat or a warm place to stay starting at 6 p.m. tonight (Sunday Jan 5th).
“Barren County Emergency Management will also be on hand to provide assistance. Anyone in the community who will be a risk tonight due to the extreme cold temperatures may come to the Bible Church located at 1514 North Race Street.
“Emergency transports are available by calling the Barren County Sheriff's Department at 651-2771 or Glasgow Police Department at 651-5151; however, these should be limited to emergencies only.
