The Barren County Trojans, when they’re playing defense like they should be playing defense, can be formidable foes for any basketball team in the region. However, when their defense is a little off, teams are able to find ways to score against them.
Such was the case Tuesday night when the Trojans, battling the very talented Allen County-Scottsville Patriots, had to turn their defensive pressure up a notch in the second half before cruising to a 57-43 victory.
“In the first half, Allen County was able to get some easy buckets because we missed some matchups and we missed some shots,” said Barren County coach Warren Cunningham. “However, in the second half we did a better job of forcing them into some turnovers and we were able to get some easy baskets in transition. We started making some shots in the second half that we missed in the first half.”
