For three Barren County seniors, their high school soccer careers ended Monday night. Emily Baker King, Maydu Gama and Taylor Quigley had each been part of better seasons with the Trojanettes, but this one was a rebuilding year for the program after losing the top scorers to graduation from last season.
“It was a completely different year for those girls,” head coach Rachel Perkins said as she and the other players shed tears following the team's 3-2 loss to Monroe County in the first round of the 15th District Girls' Soccer Tournament at the Glasgow-Barren County Soccer Complex.
In two regular-season games, Monroe and Barren split the outcomes.
“These were pretty equal teams,” Lady Falcons coach Christy Biggerstaff said.
