Calling it one of the toughest decisions he’s ever had to make, Jeff Hall recently announced he is resigning his position as athletic director at Glasgow High School to pursue other opportunities outside of teaching. The former Scotties’ head basketball coach arrived at GHS in 2008.
“It was a very tough decision because basketball has been something I have been involved in since I was probably 10 years old. It is not easy to walk away,” Hall relayed. “But I had to make a decision as to what is good for me and my family. And the opportunity I am involved in right now is with Transamerica Life Insurance and Annuities company. It is basically the same thing I was doing in Ashland prior to me coming to Glasgow.
“It is better money and it gives me an opportunity to still help people. In life insurance, your job is to make sure people are taken care of and that’s a lot of what coaches do as well. It’s been a tough decision, but I am comfortable with it. I hate the timing of it and I didn’t want to put Glasgow in a predicament, but you don’t know when or where an opportunity is to present itself.”
