Jared Hurt and Andrew Hughes embraced near the end zone of Trojan Field Friday after the Barren County High School Trojans dropped a 54-6 football decision to visiting Warren Central. No words were said. Hurt and Hughes hugged, patted each other on the back and walked to the locker room.
The Warren Central Dragons jumped on top of the Trojans early and often Friday, claiming the easy Class 5A, District 2 victory.
“Warren Central did exactly what we thought they would do on offense, we just didn’t make plays,” said Barren County coach Jason Esters. “We weren’t running with our feet, we weren’t running through the tackles. We were reaching for them and they have so much speed they’re going to break through arm tackles. That forces you to wrap them up. We demonstrated how to tackle in the locker room at halftime and I thought the guys did a better job of that in the second half.”
