Despite record, Falcons respect 1-2 Barren County

GLASGOW — The Monroe County High School Falcons go into Friday’s football game with Barren County riding a two-game winning streak with victories over Metcalfe County and Warren East. But as good as the Falcons may be feeling right now, head coach John Petett is quick to point out the Trojans could bring that winning streak to an abrupt halt.

“They’re big and physical. Their quarterback (Andrew Hughes) is not only good, but strong and physical. He throws the ball well,” Petett said. “The (Chad) Eaton kid is a terrific receiver. And, they have a good power running game. They do a lot of things that are going to give us trouble.

“We’re going to have to be disciplined on defense, play very smart and we’re going to have to get some pressure on Hughes.”
