What a difference a couple of days make. The Glasgow High School Lady Scotties dropped a disappointing volleyball match to Monroe County on Tuesday of this week. But instead of letting that get them down, the Glasgow girls came back Thursday to knock off rival Barren County in straight games.
The Lady Scotties won the first game 25-11 and followed that up with a 25-15 victory in Game 2 to win the match.
“We did play well tonight,” said Glasgow coach Tammy Witcher. “After losing at Monroe County on Tuesday, it was important for us to come out with a win today. It was important to get a district win under our belts and get it at home. I think it helped our energy level, our attitude and our belief in ourselves.”
“I am really not disappointed with the way we played tonight,” said Barren County coach Robin McMurtrey. “We played better than we have been and I think at this point of the season we are in a competition with ourselves to simply improve daily. We didn’t quit tonight and I am proud of that.”
