It wasn’t pretty.
Laurence Nyekan had just watched his Barren County High School Trojans withstand a furious Clinton County rush late in the second period to earn a hard-fought 2-1 District 15 victory in boys soccer action.
However, Nyekan didn’t do a lot of praising in the postgame speech with his team. He talked a lot about how the Trojans need to learn to finish better. Nyekan believes Tuesday night’s match was too close for comfort.
“I think it was more fatigue tonight,” said Nyekan. “We played South Warren last night and that was a tough one for us (10-1 loss). But there are no excuses. We should have put this away. We had a little lack of communication out there.”
