Glasgow girls battle Monroe Co. – again

GLASGOW — It is a worn out cliché, but when the Glasgow Lady Scotties and the Monroe County Lady Falcons hook up Tuesday night in the first round of the 15th District Girls Basketball Tournament, it will truly be a battle of two of Titans.

The Lady Scotties are the defending regional champions and sport a 20-5 overall record, while the Lady Falcons, regular regional contenders over the past few years, are 22-5 on the season.

However, the season will be over for one of the teams Tuesday night.

“We feel good and confident in our kids, but you are never satisfied,” said Glasgow coach Justin Stinson. “We told our kids the other day that we’re going to continue to improve today and tomorrow. We’ve made great strides, but we’re still looking to get better.

“It is a good pressure, I think. Your expectations are high and they’re high because you have great players. When you’re regional champions, you get everyone’s best shot. And that’s a compliment to your kids and your program.”

Tipoff is set for 7:45 p.m at Barren County High School.
