The Barren County girls’ team downed Clinton County 2-1 on Monday.
Madison Kerley dropped the No. 1 singles match to Bianca Soma 8-2, but both doubles teams won. Brooke Simmons and Danielle Nunn teamed to defeat Kristin Smith and Kesha Patrick 8-1, while Brie Simmons and Mallie Wells downed Rachel Claborn and Ashley Harper 8-5.
In an exhibition singles match, Rebecca Hurley fell 8-4 to Claborn.
The Barren County boys’ team won two of three singles matches to secure a 3-2 victory over Clinton.
No. 2 singles player Tristan Shaw defeated Christopher Cox 8-0; and No. 3 singles player Ethan Kiteck downed Matthew Hunter 8-0. Grant Gardner fell in No. 1 singles 8-4 to Zack McFall.
The No. 2 doubles team of Michael Belcher and Brandon Witty sealed the overall victory by beating Frank Zheng and Jadeon Page 8-0. The No. 1 doubles duo of Hayden Rickard and Jonathan Bunnell fell to Haley Matthews and Glen England 8-4.
In a singles exhibition match, Barren County’s Caleb Mesker lost to John Crouch, 5-8.
