Glasgow High School finished fourth in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions of the Class 1A Regional Track Meet last Saturday at Muhlenberg County High School in Greenville.
“Overall, I thought we did really well. We qualified for the state meet in five events,” said Glasgow boys’ coach John Vaughn. “I thought our relays teams would do well and I thought Zach Wheeler would run very consistent in the 400 meters.
The Scotties qualified for next weekend’s state championship at the University of Louisville in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, the 4x100 relay and the 4x200 relay.
The Lady Scotties, on the other hand, qualified for the state meet in six events, including: 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles, 4x100 relay, 4x200 relays, 200 meters and the high jump.
“I thought the girls would have a pretty good day and they did,” said Glasgow girls’ coach Anne Hodges. “We took eight girls with us and we finished first in four of the six events we qualified for state in. For these kids to realize how great they are, was great to see.
