When the Glasgow High School Scotties and Lady Scotties run in the Regional Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Ephram White Park in Bowling Green, it could turn out to be one of the biggest days in program history.
Glasgow senior Marisa Moore, the lone Lady Scottie in the race, is considered one of the favorites to win the regional title. And the Scotties, competing as a team in the race, could qualify for the state meet by finishing in the top three teams in the final standings.
“We have run this course twice this season and I think it is one of the more difficult courses we run all year,” said Glasgow coach Mindy Sorrels.
“The kids aren’t crazy about running there because part of it is gravel. It’s kind of like running on an old dirt road. You have to be mentally ready to run on it.”
The Class 1A race begins with the boys going off at 9:30 and the girls racing at 10 a.m.
