FRANKLIN – Glasgow High School’s Chase Landrum came up one stroke short of repeating as regional golf champion Monday when he lost on the third playoff hole to Jared Brown of South Warren. Both players shot 69 over 18 holes to qualify for the playoff.
“I expected to come win this tournament, but I am OK with second place,” said Landrum. “I am happy with the way I played and now I just have to work on my game for the state tournament.”
“This is about the way I thought it would end up, with Chase and Jared Brown in a playoff. They’ve been the top two players in the region all year and it is only fitting they would meet in a playoff,” said Glasgow coach Mike Harris. “Chase played well today, but he certainly had his chances. The double bogey hurt him, but what I like is the fact he came back and finished the round so strong, with an eagle and a birdie. That’s just the type of competitor he is.”
