After an Somerset interception by Addison Thompson on Glasgow’s first offensive play of the game, the Briar Jumpers raced out to an early lead and never looked back in 35-13 win over the Scotties at William Clark Field.
Somerset, 2-3 on the season, capitalized on that early interception and scored off a Bryson Jones 9-yard touchdown run.
At the start of the seconds quarter, Glasgow’s Quentel Bradley intercepted a Somerset goal line pass at the Scotties’ own 2-yard line. Glasgow, who were 4-0 going into the game, then went on a clock-burning offensive drive that nearly at of most of the time in the second stanza. However, the Glasgow drive ended on a loss of downs with 2:22 left in the opening half.
Somerset ran their two-minute drill to perfection to close out the first half on a Jordan Doan 1-yard touchdown run to put the Jumpers up 14-0 at the half.
