Falcons slip by Glasgow, 3-1

GLASGOW — The Monroe County High School Falcons beat Glasgow 3-1 Monday in District 15 baseball action, but Falcon coach Jerome Taylor wasn’t smiling real big after the game. That’s probably because he knows Glasgow had several chances to score, but couldn’t seem to come up with a timely hit.

“We played OK, but we had to get out some jams tonight,” said Taylor. “Glasgow left a lot of runners on base, and if they get a clutch hit or two, it is a completely different game. We’re just happy to get out of here with a win.”

“I can’t tell you what it is. In those situations (with runners in scoring position), it seems like we’re hitting balls right at people or we’re not hitting balls hard at all,” said Glasgow coach Sam Royse. “I don’t know what it is. We just have to continue to play hard.”
