BCHS prepares for tough regional track meet

GLASGOW — As Bob Blair tries to prepare his track team for the regional championships Thursday at Central Hardin High School in Cecilia, he not only has to think about event times, but he also has to think where his team can score the most points.

The Barren County High School track coach is a veteran at this, but it does require some strategy.

“When you’re talking speed, and we may not have the kind of speed that some of the teams up there have, but we’re going to have to try to score as many points in as many different events as we can,” Blair said.

“We may not win a lot of events, but we should score points in a lot of different events and those points add up. It is a team effort. Five points here, two points there, six points here. That all adds up. We have kids that stand out in their events, but we have a lot of kids that contribute in so many different ways.”
